Theft and Assault

THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON FEBRUARY 4TH, 2020 AROUND FOUR FIFTEEN IN THE AFTERNOON, ON THE 18-HUNDRED BLOCK OF HAMILTON STREET. AN ELDERLY WOMAN WAS WALKING AWAY FROM AN A-T-M. WHEN A MAN APPROACHED HER FROM BEHIND, GRABBING THE TOTE BAG HANGING OFF HER SHOULDER. THE VICTIM TRIED TO PREVENT THE SUSPECT FROM GETTING AWAY WITH THE BAG, BUT THE STRAPS BROKE CAUSING THE ELDERLY WOMAN TO FALL TO THE GROUND AND THE MAN ESCAPING WITH THE BAG. THE ELDERLY WOMAN WAS INJURED AND TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A MAN WITH A HEAVY BUILD, AROUND FIVE FOOT EIGHT FEET TALL, WEARING A WHITE HOODIE AND BLUE JEANS. THE VICTIM'S BAG WAS A FLORAL PRINT COLORED BLACK AND YELLOW.
