The incident happened around 3:15 In the afternoon on Monday, August 16, when a man carrying an axe underneath a black cloth entered a liquor store on the 2900 block of Gordon road and walked around, stopping at a display before setting down the X on a shelf, grabbing a bottle of Smirnoff Ice, putting it down his pants and reportedly being heard by a staff member saying “it's nice to be able to take whatever I can get” and leaving the score. The axe wielding suspect in this afternoon robbery is described as a man around 35 years old, standing five foot eight with a thin belt and possibly a shaved head underneath a black Adidas ball cap. He was also wearing faded blue jeans and a black crooks and castles hoodie with an orange design on the front.
